Mitosis

Mitosis is a type of cell division that produces 2 identical daughter cells. This means that they will be genetically identical and have the same number of chromosomes to the original cell (the parent cell).

Below is a video clip of mitosis occuring in a cell. The picture has been magnified many times so that you can see the individual chromosomes in the nucleus of the cell.
